Can you show your citythrough a camera? Here are some works: photos of their favorite people, placesand things, from flowers to friends, and trees to trains. The photos make up anexhibition that is the result of a special citywide(全市的) photography lesson called\"Everyday D.C. \"I love that D.C. is a place where people can cometogether and be free and be with everyone that they love, \" said LaurynTharpe, one of the four student curators (策展人) who worked with their artteacher at Brookland Middle School to put the exhibition together. here\'s moreto D. C. than big buildings and important people. \"\"EverydayD.C.\" was inspired(鼓舞)by a popular photo-sharingcalled Everyday Africa, started by two professional-photographers(专摄影师) who noticed that their personalphotos of Africa showed a different story than their professional work. Thegoal of the online photo \"exhibition\" is to show viewers(观众)what it\'s like to live in Africa, Here in Washington D. C.,students took photos to describe their lives in the capital. Twelve middleschools, each hands in about 10 student photos, from beautiful portraits (人像) to abstract close-ups (抽象特写) , action shots (动作特写) and delicious pictures offavorite foods. Lauryn and the other three student curators Alexis Thomas, MakaylaHerrington and Bridney Takoh were chosen to be curators by their art teacher,Maame Bawuah,
I have a lot of amazingstudents, although the four of them are excellent, \"said Bawuah, who chosethe students to be curators because of their interest in both photography andlearning about museum curation (策划) when they go to highschool.
